Mine are 12",I guess I was assuming he knew the size on mine,and he thought I was going bigger,as it seems every new Quad made over 250cc has the standard 12" wheels now.I should have noticed it in his post.

These really do best on 12X5" rims. What size are your rims????

 

I often ride on old logging roads like you are talking about - I went through several different tires before I settled on the Maxxis Razr 4speed radials, they ride like a cloud and bite like there is no tomorrow.

 

I found my solution with the Maxis Bighorn,just on the rear.I climbed that hill without any problem.I measured the inflated size to be sure I wouldn`t have anr gear ratio problem from front to back,exactly same as the stock tires.Don`t have any handling issues with radials only on the rear,although I haven`t rode on the blacktop.Thanks to all,Dizz

 

I bought carlisle mud wolf tires they are also 6 ply but are a radial they are a little softer than other 6 ply tires i ride in the mountains of vermont it gets kind of hairy but these tires on my kq 450 work great

 

The kq 450 can handle 27s if you put a clutch kit in it
