Default Tire Diameter Change effects

Hello,
I have a 2006 Outlander 800XT.

I want to change to 26" diameter tires, the ITP Terracross XD. I am looking for much better snow traction.

Is there any downside to this? Any worries about the drive system etc??
Any of you used this tire in the snow?

All constructive comments are appreciated.

PS...I also posted question this in the CanAm section.

Thanks Fellas

I thought the XT is suppossed to have 26" tires on it already. What size are they? If they're 25" and you go to 26" it changes the gear ratio by 4%. That's not enough to worry about losing power on an 800 but can be a problem on smaller ATVs. Your top speed will be faster.
