I was searching for "Reverse Trikes" on google and came upon here.

I saw that someone had done a motorcycle + ATV swingarm conversion to make a trike. I was wondering, could the opposite be done?

Although it's a more loaded question like would the pivots and chains potentially line up? would it be classed as an ATV or a motorcycle? etc.

 

I think this was a custom job... not a kit.

 

Pic looks really unstable! See the Can-Am Spyder 3-wheelie thing as well. Really silly idea, IMO. You don't even need a MC license to drive one in CA....just what we need, a lot of inexperienced riders out onour highways!

You said "do the opposite"???? Like put a motorcycle fork on an ATV???? Already been done by the millions...the now banned 3-wheeler.

 

no, I was talking about what stoopidbot found. I'm trying to go the opposite direction of the traditional "motorcycle trike", with something like a can-am, only with a tilting mechanism.

The reason I'm looking this way is because the average motorcycle in my area is about $3000, but the average ATV is only around $1000. Seeing as how I'm planning on modifying either one into a trike anyway, I figure that a single rear swingarm would be easier to build than a front suspension/steering.

And recon, while I appreciate your concern on the safety of the public (possibly even extending to me), I would like to set your mind at ease as I'm here back east and won't be doing anything stupid on your highways.
