Tires for a FormanS + Real tire size
#1
I was hoping you can help me out. I have a 1999 Honda FormanS 450 and I need new tires. but I'm not sure what to get. a friend of mine has 27" Vamps the other has 27" tri claws. I'm looking at the Mud Bugs, High Lifter tires, 27" 589, mayeven the 27" Itp blackwaters (don't like them very much) can you guys measure your tires and give me the real tire size at lets say 5PSI, and how do you like them, I will try to find out there weight.
Thanks

I know you didn't ask, but here's what I know.
The 26" mudrunners actually measure 25.5" high in front and 27" in back on stock rims at 6psi each.
I've heard some of the other mud tires are also sized inaccurately.
Makes me wish I'd bought 27" fronts with 26" rears.
You can always add psi to a 12" wide tire to gain xtra height. But this does not work so well with 9" wide fronts.

My so-called 26" Vampires are the same way. I really need 27" for the front so they'll actually be close to the same height as my 26" rears (that aren't actually 26" either). I called the manufacturer about this and I thought they were going to do something about correcting this but it didn't happen.
