Has any one actually measured their 27 inch mud bugs? Mine only measures 25 inchs tall. Went back to tire dealer and measured more and all were just 25 inchs tall. Compared it to the 26 inch 589 and they were an inch taller.

What pressure are you running? Increasing the tire pressure a bit will add to your heigth some, though the downside is a slightly rougher ride. I've heard several times that the Mud Bugs only measure around 26" or so, for the 27" size they claim, so yours measuring 25" seems a little on the low side-surprised to hear that.

If it's any consolation, the Bi/Tri Claws are about the only tire I can think of right now that actually measure at least what they claim. My 27" 'Claws actually measure a hair more at recommended tire pressure, coming in at about 27 1/4" or so. I know my stock titan 489's that were supposed to be 25" only measured about 24 1/8".

They normally measure out to 26.5" tall mounted on the right wheel and with the right psi(not sure, depends on tire width).

The 26" mugs bugs are actually .5" smaller at a claimed true 26".

 

My old 27x12x12 bugs were 27 inches tall and 11 inches wide with 10 PSI.

 

My 27" Mud Bugs on 12X7 ITP steel wheels are pretty darned close to 27".

 

27's on stock wheels at 7PSI measured just over 26.5".

 

just put 27" bugs on 99 prairie 300. used stock front wheels(12x6.5 i think), and bought itp steel rear wheels(12x7). they measure 27 with 7 psi. (primed and painted all 4 wheels matte black)
