Arrow Tire Sizing/ETC....Need Everyone's Input

I've only had a 4 wheeler for a couple of weeks now & I definately need some help. This my very first quad, although I've had around 15 dirt bikes & 1, 3 wheeler from ages 9-34 years old.

I just bought a 2006 Polaris 450 4x4 with 400 very very easy miles on it. It has the stock Carlisle A/T 25x8x12 front/25x11x12 rear tires on it. They have 80%-90% tread left on them, but a couple days ago, just riding down the street in front of my house, a 1" diameter stob stuck straight in the middle of the right rear tire. Luckily I was right at my house when this happened & not by myself 30 miles away. The hole is way too big to plug so it's time to go ahead & buy all 4 new tires, because I can't afford to have a flat when I'm way off from home. The 3 ply stock tires aren't cutting it at all in that dept., so I'm looking at buying some of the Maxxis Bighorns.

All of the reviews on the Bighorns have been good & I've studied these forums & haven't seen any complaints. The BH tires should fit my riding conditions perfectly.

My Questions Are:
1) Since the Bighorns don't come in a 25x11x12 (stock size) for the rear, Should I run a 25x10x12 or 25x12x12 on the rear & will I have any clearance problems ?

2) SHould I go up to the Bighorn 2.0 & go up to the 26x9x12 front & 26x11x12 rear ?

3) Would the steering be harder to turn with the 26x9x12 <vs> 25x8x12 ?

4) Just to make me more knowledgable, on a 4x4 ATV, Tire Diameter differ between front and rear....say 25" on the front & 26" on the rear ? I know on a 4x4 truck the gearing has to be the same, but what about an ATV ?

5) Does anyone think my stock tire with a 1" diameter hole in the center of the tread, can be fixed and not give any problems ? If so, HOW ? Can't something else stick through this same hole and pierce a patch job on the inside or pierce a tube through this same hole ?

I most definately will be running SLIME in my new tires when I get them.

I need all the information, help, & ideas out there !

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Oh yeah, My ATV is all stock & stock suspension !

Not much help at all around here, not even one reply out of 81 views.

Oh well, hope all the other forums are not like this !!!
