Question 27" XTR's the same size as 30" SB's ???

just returned from picking up a set of 27" ITP XTR's on 14" ITP rims...

I got home and lined them up with the 30" SB's currently on my outty to see how many inches I was gonna lose-

the flipping 27" xtr's are the same size as the 30" SB's! both have 7 psi in'em

in this pic- you can't even see the 30" sb behind the 27" xtr

either the xtr's run large, or the SB's run small-

My guess would be the SBs aren't as big as advertised. Can you measure them for us?

I measured the tires from the floor to the top of the lug- the xtr's were 26 3/4"
the SB's were about the same-

the front 27" xtr's were about 1" smaller than the 30" sb's-

I thought I was pretty familiar with tire sizes- but I guess not

BFG mud terrains in 35" size are actually only 34", not all tires are what they claim to measure.
I swear the 28" ITP mega mayhems are the same as your silverbacks, actually now that they are on my quad im not sure if i would have the clearance for an extra inch of meat under there.

Are you happier with the XTR's?

Is there a website with specs for the XTR's ? I'm primarily interested in size/ weight.

Tempting !!! I'm trying to get a better idea on the weight of a few tires before I make a final decision.

ITP website, i wasn able to find actual measured sizes, i think the lug differences give the illusion of making the 28" mega mayhem's look the same size as a 27"XTR
ITP TIRES - The World's #1 ATV Aftermarket Tire & Wheel Source :: Utility ATV

I have owened both, no complaints about either, currently running the mega's and i think the XTR was a better tire for New England. The Mega Mayhems no doubt dug down deeper in the mud.
