26-10-12 are considered wide?
My little 350 Grizzly had Zillas 26-11-12 on the rear and they had a taller 1.19" mud lug.

How skinny were these tires before?

10" is wider than a lot of front tires I've seen. They would cause clearance problems on some quads.

Never knew there was fronts or back tires but just where your wanted to place them.

Is there a difference between 26x11-12 fronts and 26x11-12 rears?

No difference. Some people use 11" or 12" wide tires front and back but most people use skinnier tires on the front.
