best shocks for the money?
#1
i have a 1986 250r with the stock 17 year old shocks. i raced at the end of fall and got a beating with these shocks. i ended up 6th out of 11 at a ama event, but feel i could have done better. everything on the quad is stock except 18ich rear and 19 inch front holeshots and esr trx5 pipe and silencer. i was planning on buying shocks for around 800 for rear and 800 for fronts. who offers the best prices for shocks and what combination should i get (double or triple rate, what kind of adjustments do i need). my friend has the works and i dont care much for them. so that leaves me with companies like pep, tcs, custom axis, ect. any opinions would be appreciated. if this helps any i am about 155 pounds and 6' 1"

TCS SCS shocks are great and they are in your price range. They can set up the rear shock similar to the fronts but it can't be a truce SCS due to the shock body lenghts.
They use the Elka bidies now also.
PEP is also in your price range and they also can convert your rear for you.
Good luck!
