I have a 93 Big Bear with bent axle. How do you remove this thing? I have followed the manual instructions. Removed hubs, 50mm nuts, brake assembly. The next step says to hit the left end of axle with a soft hammer with the hub nut in place. I am up to a 2 pound hammer with block of wood. Do I need a bigger hammer?

Hi, I have been working on yamaha atvs for the past 15 years, and have seen this problem quit a few times, If you have everything unbolted and it still wont come out you need to give the axle a pretty good hit to get it out, it will rust into bearings and the splines inside the large gear in final drive. I have a 2 foot piece of a old railroad track that I use to whack on end of axle, if your going to reuse axle make sure you put something on threads to protect end of axle from mushrooming out. Good luck VMAXER
