ITP XCT, XCR or Maxxis Razors?
#1
I need to replace the stock rear Dunlops on my Z400. How do the XCT's compare to the XCR's as far as how they take abuse? For the price difference would the Maxxis Razors do the trick? I ride mostly trails so I want a 6 ply tire. I am considering 22x11x9 as well, eventhough the XCR's only come in a 20 ". I am only considering the 22 " tires to give me a little extra ground clearance, I may just stick with the 20x10x9 stock sizes.

Well, since noone else seems to want to answer, I'll toss in my two cents.
I bought ITP Holeshot XCTs, mounted on Douglas 190 rims. I've been to ride in Coal Creek, Tennessee twice for 13 days in the last month. The terrain there is real rocky, and I rode em pretty hard. No problems whatsoever. Not a flat, or a ding. They seem to be indestructible. They don't do so good in deep muck underneath a 660 pound machine, but that is the ONLY knock. I would recommend them highly. By the way, the fronts are 4 ply the rears are 6, just for your info.
Hope this helps

The XCT (Cross Country Trail) are 6 ply, hard wearing and heavy, and only available in 22 inch rear. The XCR (Cross Country Racing) are still 6 ply, but as mentioned are only 20 inch rear. There is no XCR front.
I use the XCT 22-11-10, and 23-7-10, and for 2 years, not flats until the other day slashed the side wall. They will run with no air in them, and you will hardly notice.
Here in New Zealand, we have a hill climb once a year that brings out serious bikes (up to 400bhp turboed, injected 1300cc monsters) that race against the top rally drivers from here and the USA (Rod Millen, Monster Tijima etc). The winner of the Super Quad section, and 4th over all riding an 1100cc powered LT500 with 120hp used the XCR's, and got a flat in the first minute of the climb, and still powered the thing at over 120mph with a flat. I think this is a testiment to the tires!
