Are these things any good, lookin at the rear of a Raptor tha has to be durable enough to ride some rock and grassy areas to get to the dunes where we ride down under........... or do you have some other suggestions, some sort of paddle with a rib down the centre so they don't get ripped up ?

Thanks

Kiwi

They are great tires. They hook up really well...almost as good as haulers, and they turn great. Plus, since they are 21" tall, you'll end up with a faster top speed than an equally built bike with 20" tires. Once I hit 4th and 5th gear on mine, I really start to pull away. This is on flat sand drags with other 400ex's of course. And they are as durable as any other paddle tire. You just can't get all over the throttle until you get to the sand. You'll rip up any sand tire doing that.

I've kinda of been keeping an eye on opinions of the Geckos. Personally I don't care for the "look" and "design" of them. I was at the dealership yesterday and got to hold them in my hands and was still not impressed. I am still convinced they are all about "style' and "Flash".

Anyway, it seems to me from what people are reporting there is a trend. People on smaller machines seem to like them while people with the bigger machines don't like them. Maybe they offer the right amount of bite and turning for a 400ex but on a Raptor they may not hook well enough. I have yet to see somebody try them on a Banshee.

1.Frist there are a strong paddle and durable

2.they are stylish

3.they are not even close to a hauler in hook up the hauler will smoke them to no ends not even close.my buddy ran me both on ds's mine much faster but he was 10-21 bikes behind me with the geckos and when he threw on a set of hauler i had in my trailer he pulled within 5-6 bike seriously what a difference.

4. no hard paddle will ever compete with a soft paddle in take off.
