Steering Stabilizers - Worth the money?
#13
I put a Denton unit on my 400EX and am very happy with the results. I think it is a must have option. Before I had it I would get terrible arm pump and sore wrists when riding at Silver Lake sand dunes. On busy weekends the sand there is like washboard from all the truck and buggy traffic. Without the stabilizer my arms would fatigue long before my legs would. I would have to stop occasionally just to rest my arms. With the stabilizer my arms never get tired.

You guys must not know too much about the PEP stabilizer!!!! Mine has 3 holes in the bracket for rough adjustment plus the **** on the end of the main body turns to adjust the dampening inside the body. It is basically adjustable to any stiffness you want. While it was off the quad when on the easiest setting it slides through like nothing, but on the hardest it is almost impossibe to move it through.

They deffinately help. I made some brackets and use what I believe is a "Daytona" brand that I use to use while racing streetbikes. They are about $40 and appear to be what they use on the so named "Muscle" and other similar brands.

A stabilizer will help alot. It can prevent the bars from being jerked out of your hands when riding over very rough terrain at a fast pace. It REALLY helps when you start getting tired. You will notice a difference with stock a arms or extended. I have been using the same James lucky stabilizer since 1992. After every wash I spray the shaft with WD-40 and work it in and out.

I race in the GNCC series and I have a Graydon Proline Steering Stabilizer and I think it is well worth the money to help with the arm fatigue. Graydon Proline has seven adjustments just like the Denton, but is made of Machined Aluminum and is completely rebuildable. It is the only Steering Damper that I know of that is rebuildable. Take a look at it on there web page www.graydonproline.com. If you call them ask for Darryl and tell him Kevin Haynes told you to give him a call he is always more than helpful.
