Default Tire Changing Tool

Has anyone found a tool to make removing and installing tires on ATV rims easy? Lowest local price to change tires around here is $15 per tire - That sure adds up!

I see a few out there on e-bay and even saw that some forum members had bought them but do they work? - for example this one on e-bay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1874467964

Certainly somebody has experience with tire changing tools - please let me know if any of them are worthwhile

Harbor Freight has one for $40.00. Tire Changer
I haven't used it before, but it looks fairly decent?

removing tires is easy, just ket the air out and roll the quad around a little to break the bead. to put the tire back on, heres a trickmy father taught me (used to use it on military trucks) take a rope and tie it around the tire. put a bar or wood or anything strong between the tire and the rope. spin the bar so that it tightens the rope around the tire. and just pump up the tire. if its cold out, you might want to put a little water around the bead on the tire so it seals a little better.

To break the bead use a wood splitting wedge. Drive it in between the bead and the rim and work your way around. Works great.

Use the rope down the middle trick with a bar that you twist to tighten the rope. Then start adding air and as soon as the bead starts to pop remove the rope.

I bought this thing, it looked heavy duty, but it didn't work. The part that pushs on the bead always slips off. I've tried running over it with my truck, it has worked for me before, didn't work. I'm going to try the drive it around with no air trick next. My rim is shot anyway.

if you want to pop the bead back in place then get a tie-down wrap it around the tire (on the thread) go to a gasoline station and put air into it or if you have a good air compresser at home. wait till you hear the bead make a poping nose and then your tire should be good to go.

I used the "Drive the truck over" method for removing my stock tires, It took a couple tries getting as close as possible to the rims and also had to use the front truck tires, guess the back was too light. I used the ratchet strap to help reseat the new tires BUT while airing them up the strap snapped. **** gold bricks on that one it sure makes a snap. I also lubed the bead well to get it to snap over the grove in the rim. (Polaris). I noticed Dennis Kirk I think it was has a "removal tool" also. Was $8 apiece for mounting here. Many places will not mess with them either.
