Default Works performance shocks

Does anyone have the cheapest works shocks you can buy on their quad? I meant the "stealers" i think they call them.. (with out the resevour) they are like 329 a pair.. and how are they?... I have them (came with my quad) and they kinda suck... what do you think?
do i just need to get them re-built...

thanks

I personally don't own a pair of these shocks, but someone I know does. I would have to agree, they are cheaply built, weak, and too soft. If these shocks came with a new quad, don't rebuild them, you'll just waste money. Save your money and buy a nice (with a pretty pricetag) shock, it will last you long and give you a better ride.

RC your wrong in saying you'll just waste money... Stealers can be rebuilt to preform well and you can always add on rezzy's later if you choose to. If your not racing every weekend and having your shocks rebuilt/valved for your conditions every week you'll never notice the difference unless the shocks are blown out. Once you have those shocks rebuilt Liquid you'll notice a huge difference and you're wallet will be happy you didn't go spend 800+ on shocks you don't need.

Stealers are meant to be rebuilt periodically, and they have a very quick turn around time. I think Works recommends once a year if you ride hard, but I have gone a couple of years (including lots of big air jumping) without a rebuild. If you got them on a used bike, chances are they are NOT set up exactly for you. Get a rebuild, and at the same time, be sure they are sprung and valved correctly for your weight and riding style.

I have the Steelers and like them. Anything is better than stock.

I would agree with reconranger. Are they setup for your weight and riding style? Get them redone with your specs and you may be happy with them. You can also have Rezzies added for $150 if you want.

I bought a set of triple rate works with rezzy`s. I think they are just fancy stealers. They are WAY better than stock. I had them built to my weight and riding style. Call www.hy-tech-atv.com They have the best prices. Good service too.

Call Gene at www.motojoes.com for good prices and good service. I've worked with Gene for about 5 years and have done product reviews on the works shocks from Gene. He knows his stuff and will treat you right.
