First off, I hope you have reservations...they are booked.
You sound like you are ready to go. Have fun and don't forget to explore. Go to the back and north. Few people are there. Forget Comp Hill, it's a broken glass infused speed bump. The sand drags are all the way to the south. Just keep going past Comp Hill on Sand Highway.
I was there 2 weeks ago and it was REALLY windy. Hopefully it's smoothed out now.
Obviously stay out of the closure areas (easy to tell).
Not related to Quads, but remember to AIR DOWN as soon as you get on the sand. Pull over and air it down. Don't wait till you are stuck. Guys were running up and down the beach pulling people out. Find the tide listing and make it easy on yourself and go at Low Tide if you can manage it. Bring a couple of shovels for if and when you get stuck. I've also heard carpet works good.
It will probably be too busy to worry about, but watch for gullies along the bathrooms south of Sand Highway and closure. They form on the east side. They aren't fun when you hit then full throttle in your fastest gear.
Remember the helmets at all times. Obey the speed limit on the beach or near camps (15 MPH). The Rangers WILL issue tickets.
Be safe and have fun. (Hopefully the Sierra Club doesn't try a stunt and get the gates closed).
If you have GPS we had fun here:
N35 03'09.4"
W120 36'40.3"
(Bigger hills and nobody there).

Holiday weekends are a circus! My first time there was a holiday. I hated it and I swore I would never go back. Now we only go during the week. You will practically have the place to yourself.

I wished i lived close enough to go out in the weekdays but i lived near san francisco so i can only go when there is a long weekend or schools out. Thanks for the help one question i do have is do you think i should spray some oil on my air filter because i am not sure if i have enough, a can of oil is alot cheaper than engine bills, but i am afraid of putting too much and making it harder for air to go through. Also what are the best shock setting for the front at the stiffest rating or the springier setting.

Don't worry about the filter sand is a large and heavy particle, it filters easily. Just be careful and try to have a spotter at the top of hills before you go charging over the top. Don't blast around until you know what's on the other side of a hill. Most people get hurt from just going too fast and not scouting an area before opening the throttle.
