From Desert Oasis you will be able to make Choke Cherry & back without carrying extra gas. But watch how much you have, you can use it up if you get side tracked much. I will be there that weekend, over at Sandhills which is a couple miles east of D. oasis. Shouldn't be too crowded by the 30th, although there's always a fair amount of people out there these days. But---even on big crowded weekends it's only crowded in camp---plenny room out n the dunes!

Yeah, no problem on gas getting to choke and back. Just don't spend too much time playing in the bowls! Ended up going to reserve and barely made it back to camp one time.

BabyMoose, you said that you were heading out there by yourself. Why did everyone in your group back out and stay home. That would suck (looking foward to a group and then no one goes, but I am sure that you will still have fun and be able to brag to your buddies when you get back)

Shady Rascal you will be there the same weekend we are. That's cool, maybe we'll have to get together and you can show us around to all the great riding spots( I'm sure there are tons of them)

Yeah I am going by myself, hoping to hook up with some friendly ppl. Most of my group that I was going to go with are truck drivers and they all have loads out east and nothing going west, so that killed my group of about 5. Then another guy, the one who was with me down @ the desert was going to buy a wheeler, but turns out he can't get financing so now he doesn't wanna go and stuff. If anybody in your group wants to come with I'll be happy. I don't have a trailor for a 2nd quad though.

Everyone in my group is tied up until we leave for our trip. We all planned this trip around weddings, other vacations and all that other summer stuff. It would be awesome to go this weekend and then turn around and go again in a couple of weeks. I see that you now have a KFX 700, which machine are taking with and where did you pick up the KFX 700? Which machine do you prefer to ride?

Hey Moose its just me and my boys for this trip, stop by for a ride and a brew. I will be at the Egin lakes area, out by the road unless the campground part is open now. My rig is a red 03 duramax crew cab with a 5th wheel. Yellow Zuki and 2 Blasters. We'll be there fri-sat. What are you gonna be riding and camping in? Shady

Yeah, by the way 6 toe, I'll give you the nickel tour if we can hook up. Been going there for 10 years, know my way around just a little.

To get to Egin Lakes: when you head out from Rexburg, and come to the stop sign/blinking light you go straight on for Sandhills or turn left for Desert Oasis. Turning left and going past Desert Oasis maybe one or two miles brings you to the Egin lake access too. It's pretty obvious in the day when you get there, and night time there's usually campers out by the road you'll see. There's a couple of signs too. I will arrive thursday night, so if you decide to go there you'll see my rig. Got a generator if you need juice.

Shady Rascal what is it like to camp on road at Egin Lake? Will the campground there be open by the end of June? Give me an update when you get back from your trip this weekend. Have fun and be safe!!

When camping by the road at Egin lakes, you're actually in a corner of a field. Where a circular irrigation system leaves out kind of a "triangle" at all four corners of a square field, that's what this is. It's private land, but the people who farm it are cool (they're duners) and as long as it is respected they allow the campers. Who knows, after Memorial when it was beyond jammed they may have shut it down for all I know, there's a lot of people who have no damn respect for anything and leave garbage etc.
