Anyone headed for St Anthony dunes this weekend? I'll be there with my boys Friday the 13th and Saturday. Staying at the Egin Lakes area. Red Duramax w/ 5th wheel, wheelers on my photo page. Stop in if you're there! We just got a good hard rain last night, real nice today in Montana, hopefully they got the same thing down there. Shady

BabyMoose, I think we were parked next to you one weekend by the restrooms before entering the sand. We didn't have the camper yet, we were pulling the trailer with a white powerstroke, my uncle was there with is white dakota and 350x three-wheeler. How many guys are going with you to St. Anthony?

Can anyone help us out with what types of things we need to bring with to be prepared for our first ever trip to an area with big dunes? Do either one of the camp sites sell gas or better or bringing our own, do we need to buy any type of license and if so where at? (Looking for tips on making the first time a great time)

Flags-OHV sticker from home is ok-gas cans (no gas in dunes, town 15 minutes away). Jet for 5000 feet. If you are staying at Sandhills resort, you'll want a gas can you can carry on your wheeler to get back to Choke Cherry and Devils dune if you want to go there & play at all. About 11 miles one way as the crow flies, sucks up lots of fuel. There is ice and a few things at Sandhills, but most stuff you'll go to town for. If you stay at Sandhills resort I'll be there in a Red Duramax & wheelers on my photo page. If you don't have camping reservations yet you better call now. If you stay in town at a hotel then unload at Egin Lakes parking lot. There is a store there too with some items to keep you going. The Egin lakes camping area may or may not be open by the time you're there. Now the bad news----once you ride the big dunes, you're hooked for life. Welcome to the dark side, Luke!

I donno if you have paddles or not, but you will like them at the dunes. Don't go with a big ego when you race people at the comp hills or you will be disapointed. Riding the dunes is awsome, even with stock quads/tires. Once you go to the dunes, then mod your bike then go back to the dunes, you will start a cycle of endless modding! Cause you will never be quite fast enough at the dunes, I should know. I started with a stock raptor and i now have a piped, filtered, jetted, cammed, 11:1 piston and new valve springs, and more to come! It was still just about as much fun with the old stock rappy though. You guys will love it! Maybe I could make a trip there too

I believe we are staying at the Desert Oasis. Will we need to carry gas cans with us to get to Choke Cherry from there? Do they sell gas at the Desert Oasis or will we have to run to town to fill our cans? Is anybody going to be a St. Anthony's from the 26th-30th? We will be pulling in early evening on Thursday. Will there be a large crowd due to the 4th of July or will be leaving when the 4th crowd moves in?
