Children to be muzzled in the dunes

Last Memorial Day the Salem Sand club had a free sound test set up at Driftwood II. I was happy to say that my FMF Gold Series (circa 1997) sound checked at 89db. I was pretty happy.
By the way....there is a little trick to lowering your sound a tad for a sound check. The hint I will give is that it is something you typically pull before starting a cold motor -- causing a rich condition. (=

damn, and here i thought i was doing good dBing at 94...haha.
On the bashee, since it dB'ed so high they werent going to let us run, so we pulled both chokes, put the bike in gear and let the clutch out a little and it dropped the dB's enough for them to let us run the bike. They didnt seem to really care, they just had to be there to act like they were doing something, or so it seemed

i can hear that woods pipe over my own when the wife is around, but i have to say those banshees at dunefest were something else, if i could have made it back to the truck for hearing protection i would have.

While I don't have any kids if my own I do have two nephews so hearing kids doesn't bother me. In fact were usually one of the last camps to call it a night. The generators do pi$$ me off though and most people find it hard to run one all night with a broken spark plug. As for the sound limit I try to avoid any authority figures while riding and if I happen across one I turn around, don't look back, and get the hell outa dodge.
