Default Need help on Paddles and Wheels

Hello I have a 03 400ex with alot of mods they are in my signature. I was curious on getting some paddles and wheels for my 400ex. I was gonna get some skates but man I don't want too pay 250.00 bucks on those. It is a toss up for me on the, Sand Sharks with 160 or the Sand Stars with 160. The thing that gets me is the wheel size. I wanted to put spacers on the back but heard they break easy. So I figured I would go with a wider wheel for better stability. I was told if I went with a 10" wheel the tire would be prone to popping off the bead I didn't want to have to deal with that. The sand sharks are a 10" tire can I put a 10" wheel on it without having to worrie about the bead breaking. What off set would give me the width I'am looking for and does is he right about the bead breaking. Any suggestions would be helpful I wanted to go with the V blade for turning and trail riding in the sand. Thanks.

Call Rocky Mountain and get the ITP Sand Star 20/11/10 or the 20/11/8 on 160's $165 for the 10's $145 for the 8's. They will come with the correct offset and rim size.

dont torture yourself, just go to rockymountainatv.com and look for paddle tire combos for the ex. they have all the available sizes and i highly recommend their service. you wont be disappointed. their prices are also very reasonable, you should be able to find what you need. between the sand stars or sand sharks, i would go with the sand sharks (personal preferance) either one will make a difference from stock tires and the difference between the two isnt much, so whichever one comes with the size you want for the price you want is the ones you should get. as to the 10" coming off the wheels, ive never heard that before and unless you plan on powersliding sideways at 60 mph + all day long i really wounldnt worry about it.

I Love the sandskates, but they are more expensive, altho if you buy the right ones and you wanta sell them you can always get outa them what you've got in them. I sold a set of wheels on Ebay that I rode on for 2 years and i actually MADE money on them..... no one knows about rockymountainatv.com lol

Thanks alot, So you guys think I'll be okay with the 10" wheel and 10" tire it won't break the bead. I just want some thing that is gonna give me some better stability in the rear. I'am looking for a wider rear end. Do you guys know what the stock rear wheel size the stock wheels are.

almost any paddle tire is going to give you a wider rear end, the offset on the douglas wheels is way different from stock. my stock banshee tires are 20 x 10 and my paddles are 20 x 10 but my rear end is about 2-3 inches wider with the paddles because of the offset.

Stock rear wheels are 9X8.5. IF you get a wheel with the same offset as the stock, then you wont be any wider. Just getting any paddle tire won't widen your rear end. Try getting a 9" wide wheel with a 3+6 offest.
I run 20X10X10 haulaers on 9" wide wheels.
