Just wondering what the weather is usually like in early to mid May at Florence. I'm thinking about making some reservations, but I'm wondering if this is too early in the season...I don't want to get rained out after a long trip...

It is usually pretty nice weather. It can rain, but it is usually pretty sunny. Most of the rain has gone by May. When in may are you coming and where all are you going to ride??

We're tenatively planning on May 6th-9th, and riding the south portion of the dunes. We've only been there once before, so we don't know much about where to ride. We've only ridden the south mile or two...the freeway, some of the trails, small dunes, and a couple larger dunes.

It would be cool to hook up with some fellow Oregonians. We just moved here to Idaho a few months ago from Portland. Then again, it would be cool to hook up with anyone on here! The more the merrier!

ryangibson- The weather in may can be unpredictable but may is usually when it starts getting better as far as less rain but then again we are talking about the oregon coast so you never know.Me and the wife have been riding the dunes at florence for many years in fact more than i want to admit so we know the terrain. There are plenty of wooded trails to ride and miles of fair sized dunes with a very nice section of beach to ride on also.If you do come in may and you could use someone to show you around let me know and we can meet up with you.

We're also planning a trip to St. Anthony's. We're thinking about the weekend of June 12th, or 19th...we haven't decided yet.

Send me a PM when you are about to come. I would be glad to meet up with you and show you around. I am sure any of the people on here would be glad too.

We were just down on the Oregon Dunes 2/27-2/29 the 28th was the best nice and clear. We will be heading back down in April 8th-12th
Then in August a big group of us are going to St. Anthony's SOOOOOOOOO looking forward to that trip!!!!

Anyhow when we were in Oregon we went to all three Florence, Coos, and Winchester.

Winchester Bay has the biggest dunes!

Coos Bay was the most fun for the group, we all agreed that we liked Coos Bay the best.

Florence has a bit of it all.
