Coos Bay, March 26th-28th, KOA...
My buddy (YZ 250) and I are staying at the KOA 26th to 28th and it would be fun to meet some people. He is an incredible rider and we are hoping to get some good video of him taking huge air. I hope we get good weather for that weekend, but ultimately it doesn't really matter - it's all good down there. I grew up in Coos Bay, so I'm pretty used to the weather.

How can you guys stand all the nasty dust riding back and forth from the dunes to the KOA? Plus even more dust from everyone else riding around your campsite? I don't know how you do it!? Anyway, have fun!

I've not noticed the dust problem, but only stayed there once at the end of last summer. I just like their campground more than the ones at Horsefall - they are just so packed in like sardines at Horsefall. And I think I use the 1/2 mile access road as a mental preparation, picturing what I plan to devour.

I grew up in Coos Bay, so that is what I am most familiar with and probably a little biased. I can say that the Coos Bay/North Bend dune area is the biggest on the Oregon Coast. I have heard many good things about Winchester Bay and Florence, too, just haven't made it there yet. If you stay at Coos Bay/North Bend you won't have far to travel to Winchester. You will have a hard time tiring of the Coos Bay dunes in 2-3 days, but if you manage to, you can always take the run up the highway to Winchester. We like to stay at the KOA in Hauser because it is pretty comfortable. Either the KOA or Spinreel campground at the northern extent of the Coos Bay dunes are both great places to stay and you are that much closer to Winchester in case you decide to take a trip - only about 15 minutes at the most from Spinreel.
