Default Maintenance during or after dune trip?

First trip to the dunes coming up. My friend was told that after 1 trip he had to replace all the bearings in everything due to the sand. I know this is not true but what extra maintenance should I do during or after the trip that I might not normally do? Thanks guys.

I just shoot parts with WD-40 before I ride. Make sure you lube your chain with something that sand wont stick to. When I come home and wash my bike, I shoot some parts again with WD-40. Good luck and have fun.

Like he said

If your dunes are near a beach wash it well and WD 40 to stop the salt getting stuff

And with the shaft drive u will have even less to worry about

Enjoy yourself probably the most fun u will have will be on the sand

Sounds like urban myth! Here in So. Calif., we ride sand on a daily basis. Never do anything special at all, except routine maintenance. Do be sure to run chain wax, rather than any kind of wet lube on your chain (good advice for riding anywhere).
