Quad performance with paddles?
#1
I went out and bought a 2003 Z400 and now I'm ready to buy my first set of paddles for the coast.
I'm one of those people that is an all around runner on the dunes but I mostly lean toward the hill climb aspect.
I need to know how it will affect the performance of my bike with either taller or shorter (heighth) paddles.
Plus could you give me some ideas on what paddles and rims I can get that is within my price range of $200?

Sand stars are a good all rounder I would go with 20" for your bike, but if you want to go for hill climbs at the expense of turning ability. Haulers would probably be better . all paddles will tend to push the front of the bike due to the extra traction but you will get used to it.

A 21 or 22 inch tire will climb better/ drag race better, but they want to roll your quad in the corners when bowling and making aggressive turns.. A 20 is better for OA bowling.. Get an 8 paddle on an 8" wheel.. Sand Devils are the BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK (125 bucks for .160 wheels and tires from RMATV) and in my opinion every bit as good as a Hauler..

Sorry for this stupid question but this is the first time for me and buying paddles.
Who makes Sand Devils and what is the web sight for RMATV?
Thanks for all the info and looking forward to more.

Sand stars are the best paddle out there but you have to have the power to spin them or they will suck, a stock Z400 will not have enough, if you pipe and mod it right them there might be enough, my Lt just has enough power to break them out. I would go with a smaller paddle height v pattern.
