i have 20-11-9 8 paddle tires {turbos} and am going to change to 22-11-10 8 paddle tires {skats} and am woundering if i will need to change my gearing for drag racing or if i should be ok with my stock gearing 14-37. thanks

 

Not sure how its going to effect your quad. But with mine when I went from a 20inch tall tire to a 22inch. I noticed that I was not getting the same low end grunt I once had. Stock gearing on a Ds is 16/40. Im now running a 15/42 combo with 22's. Its about equal to stock gearing with 20 tires.

 

thanks for the reply. i figured it might be like a truck when you go w/ bigger tires you loose a little bit of the get up and go. so i might just put my 13 back on the front. 14 is stock. i also figured a ds rider would chime in first. yall seem to know alot about your rides over in the ds forum.

I am running 22-11-10 8 paddle haulers on my 2003 and have found 13/38 gearing works great.

 

What skats are you getting or running speedy. Extremes, haulers, taller haulers, or edges??

 

8 paddle haulers. i got them in a close out deal from a local polaris dealer. how can u tell the differince between the haulers and extremes by just looking at them? the sales men there knows less than i do.
