Which ATV is the best for the dunes and why?

 

I think the DS650 or the Banshee. Depends if you like 4 or 2 stroke

 

DS650 period. Im saying that because my mom has one and I ride it sometimes, its a very comfy ride, powerfull, fast, nice power all through the gears, the only downfall is its heavy, but that is also a good thing, I feel safe on it. My dads banshee rides pretty nice, the shocks have been soften alot, although my yfz rides through the dunes nice, it beats you up. My cousin bought a raptor and took it to Dumont on prez with us, it rides pretty nice, first time riding it so its almost broken in, after it is im going to ride it hard through the dunes and see the feel of it.

 

I'd say...Banshee. Nothing like a 2-stroke in the sand.

 

Depends what you like but in my 25+ years of riding I'd have to say the DS is the best <u>DUNER</u> I've had. If you're looking for something to primarily hill-shoot dunes on then I'd say a Banshee is the most bang for the buck.

I go duning to ride (vice hang out and be a poser) and for the riding part of dune experience I like the DS's size, travel, and power output.

 

Banshee or Raptor or DS their all really good stock and have ALOT of potential to be what ever you want.

 

id have to say raptor or a banshee but then again ive never ridden a ds but the banshee does vibrate a lot. The raptor feels like your floating but then again your at the dunes. But if it rains the raptor has the unlimited power and nice shocks if it gets a little choppy

 

Polaris....Rides like a a caddalac and it has enough power to go any where and you cant miss a gear.

 

there was a shoot out about the ds 650 baja x vs the banshee...in a one of last years dirt wheels magazines... i hate to tell you the new sand king i like to quote from the mag is the ds 650(both of these quads are stock)! in drags the banshee lots 3 out of 4 times only winning do to very experianced shifter, jumping the banshee flew better but was a ruff landing baja jumps nice nad has and nice plush landing(12 inch of front suspension and 11.5 rear) and cornering the banshee is a little better, its more nibble but if u know what ur doing u can fling the beatst around just as good...top speed test lol was won by ds..im not sure of exact speed but know ds won by a good 10mph i think!!!....as i like to say to all u riders 4 strokes are taking over and two strokes are getting very rare....alls you have to do is look around...these days u dont need two stroke power to be the sand king. this one time my friends quadzilla 500 bored and ported and jetted and piped and drag paddles...raced this banshee that had a good 12 grand in it..... it was a unbelieveable race.....but sadly but true my friends zilla beat him...not buy much but just enough to claim he was the winner...they were racin furious they raced a good 5 times my friend won a good 3 out of 5 times.....great racin on them quads....but im sorry banshees unless u have some work done to ur shee...ds will take you out...now raptor is a great competition on the ds and so is the yfz...and thats whats gets up atv riders pumped is the comptetition...soo as i always say be safe and ride responsitivly
