I think about 6 hours apart from each other!! I don't know about permit but if your state accepts out of state tags then Idaho will allow your state tags!! So far no spark arrestors needed for here!!
Lol sorry for the scare!!

Jeffroe,
You will not be dissapointed, at all.
July august is a VERY hot time at Littel Saraha Utah. In face mostly the place is a ghost town. It will be at or over 95+ the whole time. Late sugust can get more stormy, but its usually just hot as hell.
Don;t get me wrong, we did a trip just last year in mid August, its do-able, there are just better times.
I might suggest either now through June, or Sept to Early Nov. I understnad you hve a schedule to work with, but those are the ideal times.
St. A's is more pleasant in the July August months.
No sound, no sparky's required.
Utah and Idaho both have a policy that if your state recognizes our tags, we recognize yours. Check with your state office to see if they are in that program, about 75% of states are.
The dunes in Utah are roughly 2 hrs south west of Salt lake City. The dunes in Idaho are roughly 3 hours north or Salt Lake City.
1-80 runs right into SLC, and I-15 runs north south , with in roughly 50 miles of both dunes, so the roads are very good.
Make sure we know when you come out, I would love to try eo meet up with you.

Here is some infor I found on Utah's ORV site.
States With Reciprocity
If a state is not listed, this means that no reciprocity is offered by that state or the state has no current
registration program for Off Highway Vehicles. Lists below are states that will not need a non-resident
permit for particular off highway vehicles.
ATV / Motorbike Snowmobile
Arkansas California
California Illinois
Colorado Indiana
Connecticut Iowa
Delaware Nebraska
Florida North Dakota
Idaho Ohio
Indiana Pennsylvania
Iowa South Dakota
Louisiana Vermont
Minnesota Washington
Montana Wisconsin
New Mexico
New York
North Dakota
Ohio
Oregon
Pennsylvania
Texas
Vermont
The first list of states is for ATV/Motorbike
The second state on each line is the sno mo's
It looks like Wisconsin is only good for Sno Mo's
You can get a temp through the internet Here (for Utah at at least)
I woudl not imagine you to have a major problem however, if you were registered in your home state, you could always play dumb

Good info from KGB. End of May or the first of June for both places would work well. July and August is to hot for me. It also feels 5-10 degrees hotter on the sand in those blistering temps.. We have a group of Cannondalers coming from Wisconsin, Ohio, Oregon, Id, Nv, Cal, Az, Co, to ride both places staring June 11th in Utah and ending the week in Idaho..

We hit St. Anthony & Little Sahara on the same trip last year in late June. Weather at Little Sahara was perfect and the place was deserted mid-week. When we pulled into Sand Mountain, there was only one other camp. No one was camped at either Oasis or White Sands.
It tooks us about 6 hours to get from St. Anthony to Little Sahara.
If you go, make sure to go to the other side of Sand Mountain. Very nice bowls there.

sounds like a good time it's looking more like june now instead of august, we'll go to little sahara first then saint anthony staying about 2 days at each spot. it looks like all we need to do is have our state tags on our machines and for utah there $30 sticker. i hope no spark arrestor's won't be a problem but sounds like it isn't
