Default Best Places To Ride At Oregon Dunes???

We will be up there in a couple of weeks. At the same time as "Dunefest" unfortunately, as I'm not really fond of the big crowds that "events" attract.

The Siuslaw NF website (http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/siuslaw/recr...ra/index.shtml) divides the dunes into three areas: 1) South Jetty to Silicoos in the north; 2) Umpqua; and 3) Spinreel to Horsfall in the south. ARE THERE ANY WEB SITES WITH BETTER MAPS???

We will be staying at Tenmile Lake, so I think that puts us nearest the top end of the Spinreel to Horsfall area. It would be nice to ride near there, but we are also willing to drive a ways for some really great riding.

So, can anyone suggest WHAT ARE THE BETTER AREAS TO RIDE, and WHICH ARE THE BETTER STAGING AREAS TO USE. We will have a buggy along as well as the quads. THANKS!

I will be in the area at the same time. Perhaps we can hook up... I usually stay in Florence at a friends house and usually ride out of South jetty. I like that area, lots of variety, big hills, etc. Winchester where the dune fest is held has the biggest hills but the fest is a big rip-off and too crowded so stay away. I haven't ridden the southern area.

I'll PM you my cell number.

One problem I have is that everybody else has toy haulers, and I'm the only one with an open trailer. So, once their trailers are parked, I have to be the one to haul their stuff (a buggy and one of those hopped up golf carts with a lift) out to the dunes in relays. Going to make any long drives a bit of a problem. Maybe I will just have to leave them behind if I go up to the north dunes.

I think the Florence area is the best for all around duning. From Ten mile I would say horsfall/ spinreel, though. I was just there the last 4 days. We burned up about 15 gallons in three days of riding. That was me and my wife on a 450r and a Predator.
