Now that we're entering the hottest weekend yet of the summer, I can't keep my mind off those large, rolling golden hills; those shimmering, sweeping bowls. I NEED SAND! Come on October ('cause Pismo is too far away!)!

Right now we're looking at Dumont maybe last weekend of October and Glamis November 11!!!!!! Hopefully get there before then too!!!

Anyone else have the same summer daydreas?

 

Absolutely! I'm dyin to get out to the dunes. I just put a new pipe on at the beginning of summer and only got out once for a couple of hours to the dunes to try it out. I love the pipe - it really woke up the Z. Its alot more fun/easy to ride now. Fortunately it cools off a little sooner around here. I'm hoping to get out in the next week or two (Little Sahara, Utah). Also planning a trip to Coral Pink to meet some family at the end of Sept/beg Oct sometime.

 

My wife came home today to find me trying new ways to load my toys into the toy hauler. She says I am a lost cause.

 

I find myself doing that as well, maybe take out the kitchen sink and counter in the toybox, may get 1 more quad in eventually. LOL Does'nt hurt to investagate options. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

i hear ya guys, ohhhhhhhhhh can't wait, for me it'll probably be glamis for halloween weekend or the weekend after, the sand sports super show is next month out at the orange fairgrounds, ill be there for sure, for now it's gettin the quads ready nice n slow, i still gotta get a new chain n sprocket set for the DS, new clutch cable for the DS, charge the battereys in the DS and 400ex, check oil levels and check the valves in the 400ex. so by the time it rolls around ill be ready. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] ill probably be tenting it out by wash 4 if i get to go halloween weekend. or maybe up on the first loop of gecko if theres a spot.....can't wait..........josh...

 

Well, the dates are official - halloween in Dumont (Oct 28 - 30) and November 11-13 at Glamis!!!!! If the sand gods are kind this year we may be able to squeak a dune run in in late September or early October. If not, I'll still be happy with trails in the high desert. i hear you bro, we all feel the itch. luckily us az boys can feed the itch, we have local sand drag racing every sat night. feeds the itch temporaily unil it cools off. heck we race until like 2 am sometimes and its still 100 degrees outside.

i know i havnt even got a single ride anywhere in over 4 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it sucks to be me for now. I'm making a sacrifice for later this year when i move to yuma and ride every weekend. And i should be getting a bsnahee close to dune season. life will be awsome.

 

yeah, luckily for us, the summer is a good time for a tear down, and a great time for some good dialing in. our local drags work great for dialing in the bikes, and getting them ready for teh big races. usually a turnout of anywhere from 1000 to 200 people.
