Zorro
By the sound of it I think you`ll be happy with the haulers for a Banshee but being new to duning I don`t think you would notice either way.

I had V paddle Dune Sliders on my Warrior only because they were cheap from a friend. They were run at Silver lake once a year for 6 yrs and they still looked like new when I sold them with the Warrior. It will take you a long time to wear out a set of paddles if you only use them in the sand.

You may be disappointed at Silver lake. I`m not saying you won`t have fun (I had enough fun to drive 600 miles every year 6 years in a row) but the dunes are not huge and there are like 8 of them the rest is flat or small dunes. I`m working on a copy of my video and pictures to send you and Xplor to view. My wife @#$%^*& copied over the original so I need to get a copy made from one of the other guys I went with.

The pictures on my web site show the tallest dune and the one looking down is down you won`t be going up it. Also if you see that small bowl that the 3 wheeler is in (it`s a 350X with a 240 lb guy on it by the way) it is no longer there it`s been filled in which makes that drop even shorter.

EasterEgg, how many feet tall is Test Hill? It looks pretty steep. And how tall is the average dune? I'd love to see the pictures and video of your Silver Lake trip. Please send them to mbfrey@excite.com.

Pete, is Silver Lake worth it? As the crow flies it isn't very far, but the four hour ferry ride, plus seven hours of driving, makes you wonder if it's worth it for 450 acres. You recommend Haulers over V-paddles? How were they more fun than V-paddles? What size do you have? I'm planning to buy eight paddle Haulers (20x10-8) on .125 Douglas for my 250R, and I'm not sure if I even want/need paddles for my 400EX. If I do, I think I'd get six paddle Gliders (20x10-8) on .125 Douglas.

Pete, is Silver Lake worth it? 11 hours of travel for 450 acres? And for paddles, you'd say Haulers? Why are they more fun than V-paddles? I plan to buy eight paddle Haulers (20x10-8) for my 250R, and I'm not sure if I want/need paddles for my 400EX. If I do, I think I'll get six paddle Gliders (20x10-8).

I had guessed there weren't many killer dunes in Silver Lake...but I think there are good jumping spots (right?). And if so many people go there, there has to be way to have fun!!!! Not all those people go drag racing? We will go anyway.
I think I'll get straight paddles...now how many of them (the paddles, just 2 tires ), 8? 9? 10? Again, it's not a matter of what's better, since I won't probably notice (newbie power), but does any of those has a default that the others don't have? You guys said paddles hold well, so they will be used in Glamis/Dumont also. 8? 9? 10? What's my winning number?

Mike...Sorry to be late in replying.. I run The Edge on the Scrambler. It is not as deep as the Sand Skate II.. They work great. The Edge is a bonded paddle and this is my first expierence with them. I do not know how they will hold up. I know I have seen a lot of "pieces" of bonded paddles thrown off of the big sand rails. These were with the Scrambler when I bought it. I welcome the try, but I would not have bought a bonded paddle.
