what paddle tires should I get?
#1
Well its almost time for me to head up to Silver Lake to do some riding. But I need to buy some paddles first. My banshee is a 370Lr with 14/40 gearing stock swingarm. I am trying to decide between 8 or 10 paddle haulers 20x10x10. I want it to have good takeoff but I don't want to be on my *** everytime I goose it. Last year when It was not modified as much I borrowed a set of small 8 paddle haulers off of a friend for a trip. I could not hook up at all. Then I borrowed some trackers for the next trip, They done alright but I want a little more bite and prefer straight paddles. So what should I get?

I run 20x10x8 10 paddle haulers with good results. I don't know how powerful your machine is but with 14/40 gearing and 22" paddles you may not be able to pull 6th gear in the sand. I can't pull 6th gear with 14/41 gearing and 20" paddles. I CAN pull 6th OK with 13/41 gearing and 20' paddles though.

I think with an 8" rim you may be able to run less air, which would make a smoother ride and probably more traction.
last year atv sport mag. did a sand tire shootout with a stock banshee. the winner was a full set of skat traks on ITP 12" rims. I think the tires were 22/11/12 10 paddle with baldy fronts. they did radar gun runs up a hill at glamis.
