Thanks bud I may vary well get in touch with you?
By the way ... how is the terrain there? I remember in LS Utah one of the best things about it was all the varying types of terrain there. Sand Mt. the dunes, and some rocky hills, and trails around the MT's. It was great plus we could camp there on site. How is LS OK. as compared to LS Utah? IS IT similar also in size and terrain? What about dune size and bowls?

We go to waynoka oklahoma, little sahara about 6 times a year. We are mostly all from kansas city and it's right at 5 1/2 hours to get there. It's well worth the drive. When i am not there i am always thinking about the place and preparing to go again. It's 1500 acres but seems like it is alot more than that. It costs 7 bucks a day to ride out there and you can ride 24 hours a day,7days a week, 365 days a year. We went out last new years to find that they had a huge ice storm. It then snowed the first night and they got 8 inches. Everyone was leaving town and nobody rode except myself and two friends of mine. We had the whole place to ourselves. The park ranger didn't even show up. All i can say is bring a sled or tube or something. It is a blast in the snow. I would like to check out glamis some day but it's just too far to drive.

I hate comparisons when , Lets say LS-Utah is a 10.. I can only give LS-OK a 7.... Many of the riders that went to Roostfest 2001 liked LS-OK, rating the dunes as "lot's of fun and predictable and we will be back ". Lot's of 60-70 dunes to sweep and run "S's" from one dune to another. Lots of good jumping dunes. A great flat area for drag racing on the South end. The tallest dune (Buttercup) is only around 85 feet. Also a lot of trails that are fun and vary in elevation. The one thing you will miss is the "bowls". Lot's of half bowls, but nothing like I have heard about at LS-Utah. I know you would enjoy. Let me know if you need more info.

Guess this is a late reply but better late than never. in from Salt lake City and spend a ton of time at Little sahara in Utah. in fact, ive never been to another dune area at all. { I do plan to go to st anthony and coral pink in 2002 however} Little sahara is great! It has great verticle climbs, a great series of big, true bowls, and just about everything else. If you get tired of roosting sand, throw on your nobies and ride west east or south on dirt roads and trails . youll run out of gas times over before you run out of room to roam. there are great campsites, and almost always plenty of room. So if you get a chance, give it a try. I know you wont regret it!

After living in serveral different areas around the United States, and having ridden at a lot of the different sand dunes, I would honestly say that for me it's location, location, location! I would rather spend my time on the dunes then traveling to the dunes, so I would have to say that the closest sand dunes to you would be the place to go. I've ridden at Pismo, Glamis, Dumont and the Oregon Dunes, I've also been to Pink Coral sands, and also to Little Sahara OK. I currently reside in Colorado and I frequent a place called Walden sand dunes, it's small compared to the likes of Glamis (although maybe not much longer, if the Eco-***** have their way), and Pismo or even Little Sahara, but it's close and fun.

Every major dunes has it's attraction, like Glamis during Thanksgiving weekend (crazy), or Dumont during their Holloween weekend or Quadzilla fest. But when it comes right down to it, a day riding the sand dunes (any sand dunes) is better than not!
