For any of you that visit Sand Mountain in Nevada, there is an organization called Friends of Sand Mountain that is working to promote responsible use of SMRA.

BLM will start charging fees as part of the Recreation Fee Demonstration program next Spring. Please visit our web site to submit your comments to BLM regarding what they should use the money for.

We hold an annual cleanup on Labor Day Weekend.

duneraider:

I don't think BLM really knows what they should use the money for. That is why I am trying to get the real users of Sand Mountain to send in their suggestions. Please take a minute to get a few of your ideas in an email and send them in. Even if you are going to tell them that you din't think the fees are necessary.

Also, check back on the Friends of Sand Mountain web site for updates.
