Dune Tires?
#2
i wouldnt count on it... at least not for an ATV applictaion... i dont think the tire engineers have in mind a utility quad roosting through the dunes.... now if diameter is your concern , whos not to say you could throw a bugggy tire in there. now this brings me to the function of a paddle tire : the theory behind a paddle tire is not to give you traction per-say but rather to displace sand. hence you will normally see ATVs with higher displacements running larger tires with more paddles (i personally run a 19" straight 8-paddle on my 250r).. the key to running a paddle is "spin" you essentialy want to "overpower" your tire and make it roost.now HEREis a pic of 2 banshees running large diameter paddles.... so ill be honest in admitting ive never ridden a utility quad, but i think its safe to say your kodiak wouldnt exactly have the torque these bikes do...
so in conclusion , although i dont thk i was ably to give you a dfinite answer to your question, hopefully i gave you enough information for you to make an informed decision on what would be best for your application. good luck
