I was at Silver Lake on September 21st and TWO people on red 400EX's (separate incidents) where stooooopid enough to try racing through some deep water. Needless to say both of them ended up going over their handlebars when their ATV rapidly decelerated.

The first guy tried to do a wheelie into and across the water. The 2nd guy just tried to go in straight.

Does anyone here want to confess to being one of the Red Honda drivers? hmmm???

I think the wheelie person thought he could skim across the top.

I have no clue what the 2nd person was thinking.

My group was there also Corpsie. Didnt see the hondas stuck, but two of our riders put their grizzlies to the test in the first water hole in the nw corner of the dunes near the lake. They were bored with not being able to get stuck, so they matched up head on. This time when they formed an A the rears starting digging down, sinking both bikes. All on video. LOL

Thats a great place to ride. First time on sand and loved it. Planning on returning every year now on.

My buddy last year skipped his R across one of the deep holes and he did it a few times. The pictures are at http://team400ex.tripod.com/pictures...ke/sl2001.html The page takes a while to load, so be patient.

I was at Silver Lake also on Saturday, Sept 21 with Resq. Where was my video camera when I needed it. That would have made some awesome footage. I did manage to get several other events, just no wrecks or wipe outs. The problem with the water holes is that they didn't look deep, but they would swallow a 400ex up.

Here is a pic of me Hydro-planing at Silver Lake also, this was about a year and a half ago. It is just a scanned in photo, not very good quality, but still you can see:Skimmin'

We were there again on Sept. 17th and 18th, but the watering holes were alot smaller and we did it again. Here is a pic that I took of Bansheewarrior doing it on the beach front:Bansheewarrior

I have one or two other pics from that trip if anyone would like to see....
