Yea, Id buy a bike that is 15+ years old for $6500.
If your in the dunes, go with the Banshee. I dont know where these guys get off saying the banshee needs any more maintanance than a 4 stroke. If anything, it needs less. Clean the filter, change the fluids after every couple of rides and check fasteners. Thats not real hard, well for some people it must be.
And other bikes are starting to "Rule" over the banshee in the dunes. Please show me where that is happening. I was riding my friends slightly worked banshee(pipes, timing, head, and flywheel work) and never got beat by anything less than another bansee. Granted, some fo the big-bore Raptors (720+ size) were not at Glamis as expected, but my unreliable-old school banshee does beat 686 Raptors. Ask some of those guys what they have in ther Raptors or DS money wise and youll probably have a heart attack( if they arenet too embarrassed to tell you). Get a banshee, you wont regret it.
This whole argument about handling, especially in the dunes, is ridiculous. Its funny how no matter what order a group starts in(type of quad order I mean) inveribly, banshees always seem to be at the front by the end of the ride.
The Banshee may not excel at trails and MX, but if its dunes your riding, there is simply no better quad that a banshee in the dunes.

Go Roostking, go!!!
I agree, dollar for dollar the Banshee is still the best bang for the buck, even after 14 years. I would like to see better shocks on it though. After riding Sandgod's Z400 and C-Dale (with Elkas) I realize that is the weakest point on the Banshee. Still, for tearing up the sand it can't be beat...

roost king well said the banshee is still number 1 in the dunes and like you said on a rap or ds you just don't get the same results with mods so you have to buy more for the fourstrokes meaning more money

I will sell u my blaster that is just as fast as a stock banshee for $3000 if you r interested e-mail me at john_scott@hotmail.com

I'm not sure what these people mean>. Banshee unreliable? yea right. don't handle good? don't ya know you can adjust the shock in the front & rear. I softened my rear shock and that was all I needed to rip through the whoops. I'm not knocking any quads but Pipes, Coollhead, advance the timing alittle and that all you need to be competitive. Now if you race the big boyz you will need a hi po banshee hybrid. maybe some methanol and yea this does beat your quad up internally. but what a rush!!!!!

For all those that think Banshees are unreliable the one I would have to say has been unreliable are those Turbo Banshees! After high consideration we have decided to show everyone the bike that is going to beat the Turbo bikes. It is what we call the Turbo Turd Eater. In other words Turbo Turdinator. If I can figure out where to download I would be glad to show it to all of you. We were at the dunes Halloween and seen a Turbo do 65mph. Whoaa, how bout that speed??? Well, I don't see where to download a picture of it so...keep your eyes open on the internet and there will be a picture of it. There used to be one on planetsand.com
