Paiute Trail, Utah

Moose - Sorry to interrupt your conversation with Specta. I will throw in a few comments after reading your posts with Specta. I do not post on a regular basis but do enjoy reading these threads.
We road the Paiute trails during the last week of August last year and stayed in Marysvale. We did a similar loop to the one you mentioned about the Pavant mountains except going in reverse. We left Marysvale went to Joseph, crossed the interstate and worked our way up to the ridge trail. We came back south on the west side of the Indian museum and down trails 15, 13, and 2. That's from memory since my map is at home and I am not. That was about 75 miles for our day which was enough when some in our group was over 70. We left about 8:30 and returned about 6 PM. Of course, we stopped several times and took a lot of pics. Most of our easy riding max'ed at 25 - 30 because of some novices in our group.
So if you go on up to the Pavant's I would guess you can do it but it would be a long day. Your group is probably more time efficient than ours.
As far as gear, if you end up with everything you listed, you should be good to go. We went more bare bones but stayed to the forest service roads and main Paiute trails (green and blue). We did take a couple of black trails but the wives vetoed any additional black trails. Main items we carried was layers of clothing as it was very cool early, then warm, then cool. Rain gear, coolers with our lunch and drinks, tow rope (never needed), 1 gas can (did not need), towels to clean goggles, etc., and usual stuff like cameras, cell phone and first aid kit. Never did use GPS. Trails were well marked except when I took a wrong turn and visited a relay tower repair crew on top of a peak so we backtracked to the Y and continued on.
Enjoy your trip. We sure did. We do plan on coming back sometime.

Specta, I decided to rent a Polaris Touring 550 from Lizzie's and Charlie's. As expected they doubled the cost when I mentioned your name.
No, they were really nice. From what he said they are right across the street from the Old Pine Inn. That will work out well.
My thought is I can treat you (and if you'd like, your wife too) for dinner either Tuesday or Wednesday night. Let me know what you think.

They only doubled the price - I guess my check wont be as big as I thought.

No need for you to treat me and my girlfriend - if she makes it down. You coming all this way just to ride is treat enough for me.

Yep, 10 more days and we'll be out there. 11 days until riding. Yes, I'm getting psyched.
I would like to treat you to dinner. You don't have to tell your girlfriend if you don't want to.
I think your time and expertise is worth at least that much.
