I headed up Deer Creek Canyon this morning. This is Paiute Trail #74, the No 1 traveled trail here.
There is still quite a bit of snow here for this time of year. We had about 200% of the average but it’s melting fast.
This fallen tree landed on the 2nd stream crossing blocking the trail. I took this picture 5 days ago on May 3rd.
Some locals were on their way down as I was on my way up and they had already cut and moved the tree so
I didn’t have to, or get to depending on how you look at it. I took my chainsaw and was going to move it myself.
Just having fun, made it over on the next attempt. Sometimes it’s hard to judge just how hard to hit it.
This is as far as I went, 5 miles up the canyon from the trail head. I made it several more miles May 3rd last year.
This is what I came up. The snow was hard enough with some speed you could drive on the top of it. You might
be able to see my tracks right in the center on the snow.
Back home, washed and ready for the next ride.

Me too. I can't complain. We're getting by and have a roof over our head, food on the table, and clothing on our backs. We even get to take a ride and enjoy God's creation every so often. I'm thankful.

I took these pics back on May 2nd. This is the little canyon that I enjoy, this time I went down instead of always coming up.
This is the next little canyon to the north. They're tough to see but there are about 30+ head of deer in the center
of the picture and in the upper middle you can make out the trail (white from the snow covering it); this is the trail
I was headed up.
Here's a picture of Marysvale from the top of the hill,
and heres a short video going up the trail.
