Default stock vs race quad?? help me out please!!!

hey all,
my buddy just took me to speedworld and i saw a few guys on quads, but they looked like little people quads. really low and really wide. and they where full grown men. my question is i am about to buy a trx 400 or kfx, maybe a ltz. but they look like normal quads out of the show room. so would a stock quad screw me at a track like this? would i be able to turn and jump like them. the problem i see with those lil quads they had is that i like to go up to the woods and trail ride, im not sure if they could do that. its looks like they just stay at the track. so what does everyone think? let me know
thanks!

You have to ask yourself where you will spend the majority of your riding time. A quad that's built for the track isn't ideal for the trail, while a great trail quad will only be marginal at the track. It's up to you...

A quad set up for XC will perform better on a track than a full stock machine.

I think if you want the closest thing to a factory racer, get a KTM quad.

As long as you aren't looking to race mx with it, you will be fine at the track with those machines. Then again, if you are looking to race mx those aren't the models you should be looking at anyway. A quad truely set up for xc will have softer suspension than stock and may not be much better for mx than a stocker.

Depends on what you'll be using it for. I mainly trail ride but I didn't want to drive a tank of a utility quad but I also wanted a quad with a usable amount of ground clearance so I bought a yamaha warrior, kind of a middle ground.
