I was 11 when I got my 300ex, I have no clue why it would be too big/fast for a 13 y/o girl.

What would be a couple of brands and sizes to look for?

Thanks, Fred
My sister is about 15-20 lbs lighter and about the same age(12 going on 13 in a month or so) and she has no problem driving my brothers 300ex honda....i'd say something along those lines would work great, its an easy clutch, and it has reverse.

There's always the Honda Recon 250. Good, reliable bike with decent gear range and it's a utility, not a sport bike. I guess it all boils down to what you want for her and her preference. You could also go with something a little bigger in the ute class like a Rancher that she could grow with. I'm sure she'll love whatever y'all can find.
