Default Need Advice, Buying Utility ATV

I'm switching over from sport ATV's to 4x4's and I'm looking at buying one. I need some help deciding what brand to get. I can give some info to narrow the search down. From the prices I've seen it will be around a 2000-2004 model, automatic, push button 4wd, some models that might be considered are Honda Rubicon, Honda 450es, Arctic Cat 500, Suzuki Vinson 500, Polaris Sportsman 500, Yamaha 600 Grizzly would love to take a 660 for the right price, and I don't know that much about Kawi's. I will be riding trails and mud, I want large mud tires, snorkel and winch, probably put exhaust on it and jet the carb(s). I would like something comfortable, good ground clearance, and with good power. From the list I would love to have a 660 Grizzly, but that's probably a little out of my price range. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

welcome to the forums! this inquiry would be better suited in the 'buying an atv' section. what is your price range?

Around 3k, but I will have to factor in tires and possibly winch into that. Maybe can find one with it already set up. I have found some Kawi. Prairie 650's and a Honda Rincon. Any suggestions?

Forget about the 450 Foreman. I had one for a short time. rough ride and slow. Even on a Utility ATV you want speed sometimes for those long boring gravel road sections. Even the newer 500 Foreman is not alot better.

the prarie is a good machine, but kawasaki is sort of known as 'behind' on their CVT systems. hondas are reliable, durable, but a little old school with alot of models still with swing axles, and they still dont have a diff lock system. the rincon isnt bad, but has bad engine braking ability. older grizzly's (660) were known to feel top heavy. what would be nice is to test drive some, even newer ones at a dealer, just to get a feel, even if the older models wont be identical...
