I usaully take a water proof cooler bag with drinks and ice and in other compartments, camera, camcorder, cell phone, keys. Rain jacket, wear my waiters which helps keep me dry and mud free. I would do without waiters if I wasn't going mudding, but it is just too tempting, also not very comfy when it gets hot and humid.

All really good answers posted here. I also take topo maps, GPS and compass, extra gas. I have two small ammo cans that I put in my trunk. You can get them at any surplus store. They're sturdy and great for tools, tire repair kit and the like.

nice, some great ideas.

i actually ordered a come along too. we would use them a bit if we got stuck and their was a tree near by. sometimes i used to go out solo when i was younger. i doubt id need it now cause id be doing much more tame stuff.

besides that come along, a tow strap, binoculars, med kit, waters, snacks, i got this small portable shovel, if it fits.

i guess i should get a plug kit and someone told me to get an electric pump, but i think id rather have a small manual one.

Tjwoody, I take a manual foot pump. They take up very little space and never let you down. I've used it on the trail. A plug kit is great peace of mind.
