how to make a homemade snowplow

I agree- you really need a welder to make anything that's going to last.
Atv plows really take a beating- I just spent a few hours rewelding my push bars for my factory moose plow- bent it real good.
Chuck- did you use 1" square stock for the pivot? I noticed you went from 3 springs to 2- was the 3rd one too much tension to allow it to flip down?

Nice chuck! I did something similar with an old heavy sears garden tractor blade for my buddy to fit his foreman. Used the blade and pivot then fabricated the rest. Once fab and fit was complete he had his brother (who works in an industrial paint shop)powder coat the blade yellow and the frame black. (Looks like a moose plow now). Wish I took some pic's as I was fabbing it. Might give him a call and see if he'll snap a few and send them to me to post here.

i've been thinking of ways of fabbing my own up without a welder as well, one of them being using a piece of duct for the actual blade, since its lightweight and made of aluminium, problem is saving up some extra cash to get it done, but getting my quad fixed first, there's a hole in the side of the casing by the sprocket....chain came off back sprocket, stuck to front, broke off guard....gonna be a fun fix
