Default 90cc semi auto question

Hello everyone, This is my first atv.. Redcat 90cc and while I originally wanted a full manual, it was a good deal and its a semi-manual/auto so i'm happy. it's a small atv but just wanted something for the snow... I've had a couple dirt bikes and mid-bikes as a kid but no semi-automatic shifting.

Ii'm in the process of fixing a couple things so I havent riden it yet... so before I do my question is......

How does the gear rotation work on these? (it's a redcat 90cc) for example, if in nuetral-- is it up or down for first gear? And then what direction after that? and if i'm in top gear, do I have to cycle back down through the gears in order to get back to 1st or can I be in high gear, slow down and pass nuetral back into 1st/2nd like a rotory shift for example.... sorry for the newbie question I just dont want to mess things up i'm not too familar with these kind of setups.

I've had a ton of manual transmission cars and trucks, My s10 is a 5speed but now Ii feel like i'm starting all over haha any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

It should be

neutral all the way down
up for 1st, then again for 2nd, and once more for 3rd

you do have to go back down to get to the lower gears, no rotary shift (it died long ago)

I think your going to be fairly disappointed with this thing in the snow.....but I could be wrong.
