Alarms
#1
Hey Guys;
I have been looking for an Alarm System for my ATV, a quick search of the internet gives a few choices like 'GORILLA', 'Scorpio' and 'ARMED GUARD' - all the same sort of thing with remote on/off, tilt sensor and a LOUD siren all for around $100.00.
SUPER! - I want one!... but any reviews I read are 4 years old.
Has time proven these things to be a poor investment or did people just stop talking about them?
Any ideas?

Get a good lock and a cut resistant cable. Secure it first. Make it so they have to carry it. With a 600 or 700 lb machine, they will move on to easier pickings.

Case harden chain and an armory lock?...just dont misplace the key..without a burning bar the lock is not comming off
Be honest if I was going to jack an ATV anyone with a lock I would move on to a diff one alot of folks just park them in there yards no lock no nothing..or a dealer ...they seem to leave them out side if the dealer is big enough.....5 yrs as a cop here I don't recall anyone getting a locked atv stolen..its the unlocked ones that get taken ripped apart and sold.

Hey Guys;
I asked about an electronic alarm.
I already have a cable and lock that I bought at the local hardware store for about $10.00.
If you go to this web site;
ATV Cables and Chains: BIKEBONE
and look at the security systems available they do include locks and chains for roughly the same money that I can buy an alarm for (~$130.00). They must be one tough set of locks for that price!
But I was looking for an opinion on ‘Electronic Alarms’ that feature Tilt Sensors, Immobilization, and Current sensors all with a 120 db alarm to scare off a thief and alert me.
If no one has tried such a device… OK … let me be the first.
But a $130.00 expense in a Quad is a small investment to keep it safe and in MY GARAGE.
In MY Humble Opinion
CRIMESCENE - thank you for your take on the situation, It makes me feel better - whether I am using just a lock and cable or the Electronic Alarm - it's nice to know that my ATV will STILL be around in the morning.
Happy Trails.
