Push Starter Button Problem?

Push Starter Button Problem?
Hi...I hope you guys don't kick me out of here for this question, but I haven't had any luck anywhere else !
My question is this.....My wife has a 2002 Honda vlx600 motorcycle (not a 4wheeler) that recently decided it didn't want to start with the PUSH BUTTON anymore. When you push the button, the headlight goes out and does nothing. All of the other lights stay on (front running lights, blinkers, tail light, brake light), but the headlight goes out. Is there a FUSE between the START button and the solenoid somewhere?...or do you think it could be a START button problem?.....already bought a new battery but ugh....not the solution.
