Default Truck bed ramps

Can anyone recommend a solid set of ATV ramps? Something that works well but doesn't necessarily require me to modify my truck. I can't afford to get a trailer right now but will occasionally need to an ATV around.

I have an '05 Nissan Frontier with a 6' bed.

Check out API Outdoors Aluminum Loading Ramps - Tri-Fold This looks like a heavy duty ramp in the under 6' category. I have a set more like this API Outdoors Aluminum Loading Ramps - Adjustable Tri-Fold that I bought at Cabelas. I cut them down to 6' 5" to fit in my GMC truck bed. I like the adjustable ones for using with my lawn tractor. One thing I highly recommend is any of the ramps that are attached to each other. I used to have one of those kits that you get that are made out of aluminum and you add your own planks for the ramp part. I once had them almost seperate when loading. The trifold and bifold types stay parallel to each other.

I've bent every aluminum tri-fold ramp I've owned. I bought them at the local auto shop. My sportsman 800 folded while I was loading it on a truck and my brute force ruined the other one, and on the way down it destroyed my tail gate .

I would try the radius aluminum ramps- they look a bit stronger, or even the adjustable epoxy ramps, they look good & strong- and, always strap the bottom of the ramp to the bumper to keep it from sliding out (learned that the hard way too! ) Riding a fully loaded sportsman up an aluminum trifold puts you pretty close to the capacity.

I ended up finding a decent 5x8 tilting trailer on cl for $290- so much easier.

I haven't had any troubles weight-wise with the ones I bought. They are seriously heavy duty. I wouldn't go under a 1500 lb. rating personally. Between me and the X2 we're pushing around 1200 lbs.

Got these for my truck. I loaded a Ranger 6x6 into a semi off my atv trailer with them & had a 800 load on the back of it. Did not bend at all!

I think the cap on the ramps I had were 1200- between the sp 800 & the 14" rims, 28" xtr's, full tank of gas + 1 gal spare tank, all the tools, gear and me- I was asking for a failure

those are nice- but the cap is only 1100- I bent my 1200 cap ramps loading my sp 800- any little bounce going up on a loaded big bore utility and snapo

Same here, we use ramps all the time and seen two aluminum sets bend, and the ramps had a 1100lb rating and one side bend with a big guy on a light Yamaha 350 Bruin/Grizzly. If he was on a Polaris it would of made it on Youtube.LOL

Aluminums are nicer to man handle, but bi folding 8ft steels work the best. The 6 ft have to much steep angle we find. The steels can handle a "side by side" or 1100 lb Garden tractor.
