As you know, a 50% grade means a 45 degree slope. I don't know if I'd want to be going down that kind of grade with a trailer load of wet firewood. Unless, it is a very short distance. Even the section that is 42% grade is around a 36 degree slope. So, in my mind, the longer the wheelbase the better. At least a 2-up machine or the extreme utility machine that is a quad width wide, the Polaris Sportsman 6x6. It has true 6wd and comes with an 800 cc engine right now. Previous models had anything from a 2 stroke 250 to a 500. I think it can hold 800 lbs. in the dump bed too. It also can tow 1500 lbs.
