Yup, the Raptor is a huge step up from the Chinese mo-bile you are currently on. As stated above, snow and 2wd are OK up to about 4 inches or so depending on ground clearance. Much higher than 6" and it is more work than necessary. I only own sport quads, and in the winter if the snow is much deeper than that we either just don't ride, or we plow out a track to race each other on. Ice racing/riding is also a lot of fun and sporties do a great job there too. Should be fine if you have legal roads to ride. If a car can pass, a quad will be a blast on them.

Personally, I like to recommend a 400cc or larger sport if you are experienced. You get more power, but more importantly better suspension and handling. With your size a 350 Raptor would be a good fit as well though.

If your liking the raptor 350 you might just wanna shop around for a used 2005 or newer (because of reverse) honda 400ex.... same size machine just better in every way.
