Default Good bye, old friend.....

Can't believe I actually did it, but a few days ago, I sold my 1995 Wolverine, I was the only owner, having bought it new in August of 95. That quad went everywhere, winter rides on frozen rivers back home, dunes in Ok and Michigan, a few times on motocross tracks, thousands of trail miles, dozens of deer dragged from the woods, and trail mowing all summer. I had bought a 2008 Ducks Unlimited 700 Grizzly with EPS this spring, and the poor Wolverine sat and collected dust while I rode and got used to the new quad. My faithful companion deserved better than that, so I cleaned it up, went through the carb and set the valves, and put it on craigslist locally. Got tons of calls, the first guy to come see it and ride it around the yard was just getting over a divorce and wanted to get back into quad riding, but didnt have a lot of money for a new one. When he saw my Wolvy in person, I saw his eyes light up,and he took it for a spin down the road, roost flying with every gear shift. I knocked a couple hunderd off the asking price, and he took it, he couldn't stop smiling or telling his buddy how much fun he was going to have with his new toy. That made it a little easier, at least now, I know the old boy is going to go to a good home with someone that will ride it and care for it like I did.

Goodbye, old friend, you'll be missed.....

Parting with a faithful companion is hard to do, but at least you got a worthy replacement. I hope you have several years of fun with the new one.

it is hard seeing an atv you've become fond of pulling out in the bed of another guys pickup truck.

I've had lots of practice with that

the two I miss most (and I knew it the minute they were loaded on the truck and I stood there with a pocket full of cash and a bummed out puss on my face) were my 09 renegade 800x and my 08 outty 800 max xt.

I currently have a nice 09 outty 650 xt (need to update my list) which I'm really in love with- I think I'm about to set a personal record on the longest I've owned an atv before posting it on cl...

You raised that one from a baby.

Well, you can always envision it back on the trails and happy again.

It does make it easier if you know it's going to a good home. Nice replacement. Grizz is a great quad. I think the worst thing to see is a quad going unused.

Default Me too!!

Sold my 95 wolv this summer...bought it used years ago from My wife's uncle....put hundreds of dollars of parts/repairs into over the years! In 08 I bought a new Big Bear and kept the wolverine as a plan B...after three years and probably only a couple hundred miles on the wolverine (and 2500 on the Big Bear) I sold them both when I bought a 2011 Grizz 550 this summer! Sold the volvy 8 hours after it was posted on Craigslist!! The guy never got out of second gear on his test ride!! If you don't mind my asking...what did you get for the old Wolvy??? 1500 bucks here...
